Meet New PostNet Printing Franchise Owner Gail Creamer
Gail, who launched her PostNet printing franchise in July, is ‘proud of what I’ve chosen to do’
Gail Creamer worked in the telecommunications industry for 25 years, but it was more of a job than a passion. A wave of hiring by AT&T in the late 1980s put her on that career path, and a round of layoffs in 2011 brought it to an end. Gail looked around and decided she was ready to take control of her own career path, and she wanted to do something where she felt she could make a difference.
With help from a consultant, Gail started researching franchise opportunities. At first, she looked at a list of 10. She narrowed it down to the three that seemed most interesting, and then she reached out to the companies. Soon, her list was down to one: a PostNet printing franchise. Her center opened in July.
PostNet Neighborhood Business Centers offer a full range of digital printing solutions for small businesses, as well as graphic design, direct mail, websites, email marketing and shipping — designed to help businesses grow.
For PostNet customers, it’s a boon — they can work with a local franchise owner who can offer a solution for nearly any marketing challenge, and they can also avail themselves of sophisticated shipping solutions and other professional services.
Franchise owners enjoy an award-winning franchise system that has built a vast support system to help franchisees offer a wide array of services, as well as tools and support to help them run a successful business.
“They go above and beyond,” Gail says of PostNet.
Co-founders Steve Greenbaum and Brian Spindel are constantly leading industry innovations and building relationships with providers who offer specialized services under the PostNet brand that are then offered to customers. The partnerships allow PostNet franchisees to make healthy margins without the overhead, labor costs or investment in equipment or inventory.
“Even before I opened, whenever somebody would ask me if I could do this or that, the answer was always ‘absolutely,’ because I had no doubt that there was something we could do,” Gail says.
Support also comes from PostNet’s Business Support Coaches, who provide guidance and troubleshooting, as well as from other franchise owners. Gail’s coach, Andy Collins, “has been wonderful,” she says. Just as wonderful, though, is her relationships with other PostNet owners. Gail can get tips and share ideas through internal online forums, phone calls and at conventions. One of her fellow Syracuse PostNet owners, Kellie Pomfrey, has been especially great: “They’re always here to help me,” Gail says of Kellie and her store manager, Lisa.
Gail looks forward to meeting more customers by networking with other business owners and letting them know about all the ways PostNet can help them as they work to grow their businesses. That’s one of the things that’s special about PostNet franchises: They succeed by helping the businesses around them succeed, too.
“I can stand here and be proud of what I’ve chosen to do,” Gail says.
