PostNet Printing Franchise’s Global Efforts Featured in Franchise Times
Printing franchise has large global footprint thanks to flexible development
“Franchisors are finding there is no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to international expansion,” Franchise Times writes in its latest issue, which features the PostNet printing franchise. “Each country, each culture and each opportunity is different.”
We couldn’t agree more.
For two decades, PostNet has worked with global business partners to bring our proven systems into new countries, and we have tweaked and tailored the business model to match the needs of local communities. We work with master franchisees to solve unique challenges.
Franchise Times cites one example:
“PostNet utilizes a smaller footprint outside of the U.S. to help reduce real estate costs for its franchisees. The franchisor has more than 350 locations in 10 countries in Africa, South America, Central America and Canada. International locations average 600 to 800 square feet compared to 1,200- to 1,400-square-foot stores in the U.S., notes Steve Greenbaum, CEO of Denver-based PostNet.
“The neighborhood business centers provide design, printing and shipping services. In some cases, PostNet is able to downsize the real estate footprint by moving some of the print production to a different location where real estate is less costly, or by contracting with a low-cost vendor to outsource those printing services.”
PostNet also works with master franchisees to develop services unique to local demands. For instance, when PostNet first expanded into South Africa in the mid-1990s, phone service in that nation was spotty. Many areas did not have phone lines, and cell phones were not yet ubiquitous. Small businesses were cut off from international trade because of limited communication options and a lack of convenient shipping options. PostNet already specialized in shipping, and added calling services to meet demand. By solving both problems, PostNet helped local economies flourish, and became immensely popular. Now, the company also provides printing and marketing services, giving business customers an even bigger boost.
PostNet continues to partner with master franchisees around the globe, and we are eager to talk to business leaders who are interested in bringing the franchise to their country. We’re passionate about using our business model to provide services that help other businesses grow, and help make the communities in which we operate more prosperous.
