PostNet Thrives in the Booming Franchise Industry
Marketing services franchise benefits from the strong growth of the franchise industry
As the premier marketing services franchise, PostNet is experiencing a period of rapid growth that coincides with the boom the franchise industry has been experiencing in the past several years. As a franchisor, PostNet is proud to be associated with an industry that, according to the International Franchise Association’s (IFA) Franchise Business Outlook: 2016, “will once again grow at rates that exceed non-franchise business growth in 2016.”
The Franchise Business Outlook: 2016 is a comprehensive overview of the franchising industry overall, and the news couldn’t be better. Some examples from the report:
- Franchise businesses will have 3.1 percent growth in jobs, adding 278,000 direct jobs to the economy this year for a total of 9.1 million.
- For the past five years, the average annual job growth in the franchise sector was 2.6 percent, nearly 20 percent higher than all businesses economy-wide. Over the past five years the franchising sector has added nearly 1 million jobs to the economy.
- The number of establishments will grow this year by 13,359, or 1.7 percent, to 795,932.
- The IHS Economics forecast of output growth in nominal dollars for franchise businesses will increase this year by $52 billion, 5.8 percent, to $994 billion.
“We are forecasting that for the sixth consecutive year, franchise businesses will grow at rates that exceed the economy-wide growth of industries where franchises are concentrated,” IFA President & CEO Robert Cresanti says in a news release. “Franchise businesses are showing tremendous capability to provide new jobs for working families and new businesses for first-time business owners across all sectors in local communities.”
PostNet is stronger than ever in 2016
As the franchising industry continues its record boom, PostNet is likewise booming. The industry has taken notice. In 2016, PostNet has been named a best-bet investment by Franchise Direct, Franchise Gator and Entrepreneur magazine.
The demand for new PostNet centers is bigger than ever before; economic trends show that entrepreneurs and independent contractors are on the rise in the American economy. There are 28 million small businesses in the U.S., and their spending is part of what generates the $380 billion annually that goes to printing, shipping and online marketing. PostNet is the only brand capable of serving those millions of small business owners by providing them with the tools and expertise to compete for customers.
Our full menu of services includes graphic design, full-service digital printing, direct mail, signage, document binding and finishing, and ancillary business services, like private mailbox rental and more. Unlike traditional postal and mailbox franchises, PostNet has strategic partnerships with all of the major logistics companies — UPS, FedEx, U.S. Postal Service and DHL — offering a multi-carrier selection coupled with in-center professional packaging services to meet the individual shipping needs of its customers. PostNet franchisees have a physical storefront in their communities and an Online Print Center, offering customers the benefits of online transactions and face-to-face service.
“The role of a franchisor comes with significant responsibility,” says Steve Greenbaum, CEO and co-founder of PostNet. “People come into this organization every day from around the world. Our job is to help them be successful and ensure that their experience and relationships with the PostNet franchise family add value on all levels. As founder and CEO and the person who drives the strategic vision, making sure that our franchisees succeed is of paramount importance to me. Our franchisees invest real money, real heart and real soul — some of them leave careers — in the desire to improve their lives. We truly care about everyone and everything the PostNet brand touches.”
PostNet ramps up for aggressive nationwide and international expansion
In 2015, PostNet opened 15 new locations across the country, including several in the bustling urban cities of Atlanta, Miami, Austin, Washington D.C., Dallas, Minneapolis and San Diego, and one on the West Virginia University campus, bringing the total number of U.S. locations to more than 260. The brand also expanded its network of international centers to nearly 400 locations.
2016 is shaping up to be another banner year, with exciting center openings in California, West Virginia, Georgia and our first-ever center in Connecticut, where we are only beginning to blossom. PostNet recently announced it is actively targeting the Connecticut cities of Bridgeport, Stamford, Norwalk, Hartford and New Haven for franchise growth. Over the next five years, PostNet expects to open 10 locations across these key target markets.
Throughout the year, PostNet will continue executing its strategic growth plan, expanding the brand into untapped and existing markets domestically and overseas.
“Our franchise growth in 2015 and into 2016 demonstrates the strong demand for our personalized, business-enhancing services,” Steve says. “Innovation has, and will always, drive our company strategy, making us well-positioned to develop products and services that meet the changing needs of consumers and businesses. We will be growing for years to come.”
