The study is entitled, “2017 Small Business Outlook,” and the agency surveyed more than 1,000 small business owners to gauge the health of American small business overall. The survey finds that the state of small business in America, often and rightly referred to as the engine of the American economy, has never been healthier or more optimistic, as small business owners are committed to making the investments that fuel growth.

To put that in perspective, this is what Insureon reports are the 2017 plans for the small business owners surveyed:

  • 58 percent: buying new equipment or furniture;
  • 34 percent: selling a new product;
  • 33 percent: hiring an employee;
  • 30 percent: offering a new service;
  • 23 percent: moving to a new location. *
